Coin Gallery

Indian Museum has a unique assemblage of coins, numbering more than fifty-two thousand. These coins come from different regions of the Indian subcontinent and range in date from c. fifth to fourth century BC to present date. The Gallery displays replicas including some original coins representing from earliest Indigenous uninscribed coins (c. 5th century BC to 2nd century AD) to the coins of the Republic of India in the 20 showcases of the Gallery.
